Jimmy Y. Chung, M.D., FACS
Dr. Jimmy Chung specializes in general, laparoscopic, thoracic, and vascular surgery, particularly minimally invasive techniques for breast, anti-reflux and gall bladder surgery, endocrine surgery, and complex gastrointestinal cases.
Dr. Chung graduated from UC Berkeley with honors and received his MD at UC San Diego. He completed his surgical residency at the prestigious University of Washington and has been practicing in Santa Cruz since 2000. Dr. Chung has extensive experience in advanced laparoscopy, minimally invasive surgical procedures, and vascular surgery.

Brian Waddle, M.D., FACS
Dr. Brian Waddle specializes in general, laparoscopic and thoracic surgery, as well as colonoscopy, upper and lower endoscopy, and Da Vinci Robotic surgery.
Dr. Waddle completed his undergraduate training at Pomona College and entered the University of Arizona College of Health Professions as a merit scholar, graduating with honors. He worked for the US Indian Health Services as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

Trevor M. Williams, M.D.
Dr. Trevor Williams specializes in general, colorectal, thoracic and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Dr. Williams graduated from UCLA with honors in Biology and Phi Beta Kappa. Fluent in French, Trevor Williams earned his MD at McGill University. He received his Masters in Public Health from UC Berkeley and did his surgical residency at UCSF-East Bay. His interests include colorectal, thoracic and minimally invasive surgery.

Marie E. Pletsch, M.D.
Plastic Surgery
Dr. Marie Pletsch, received her M.D. degree from the University of Toronto in 1962. She completed an internship in 1963 at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, followed by a three-year residency in general surgery at Cook County Hospital, Chicago and St. Mary's Hospital, San Francisco, California. She then completed a three-year residency in plastic surgery at St. Francis Hospital in San Francisco, California. This included a rotation through Letterman Army Hospital, Contra Costa County Hospital, San Quentin Prison Hospital, U.S. Public Health Hospital and Southern Pacific Hospital.
Dr. Pletsch is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is a past President of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons. CSPS has close to 400 members statewide. She has served several years on the Council of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons and held the offices of Secretary, Vice President, President Elect, and President. She has also served on the Board of the Santa Cruz County Medical Society including the office of Treasurer.
Dr. Pletsch has been in private practice in the Monterey Bay area since 1969, and has two offices, one in the Santa Cruz area and the other in Monterey.

Dr. John Anane-Sefah, M.D., FACS
Mid County Surgical Group
Dr John Anane-Sefah is a Specialist Surgeon in General Surgery, Laparoscopic, and Minimally Invasive Surgery, as well as Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is the leading Breast and Hernia Surgeon in Santa Cruz county, and is the founder of The Hernia Center of Northern California and The Women's Breast Center of Capitola, both located at 603 Capitola Avenue Capitola, California.
He was the first Surgeon to bring the technique of Sentinel Node Biopsy in Breast Cancer patients to Santa Cruz, and one of the first surgeons to perform Laparoscopic Gallbladder Surgery in Santa Cruz County, back in 1980.
Dr Anane-Sefah graduated from Yale University with a degree in Biological Sciences in three years, and went on to obtain his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He trained in General and Vascular surgery at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. He began his surgical practice in Santa Cruz in 1976, with the Capitola Medical Group. He then went on after eight years with that group to found The MID-County Surgical Group, Inc.
Dr Anane-Sefah became Board Certified in General Surgery in 1978, and continues to be in the forefront of providing the latest in surgical techniques and procedures to his patients. He has a combination of unparalleled experience and surgical skills that are legendary in the halls of Dominican Hospital and Santa Cruz Surgery Center.

Steven Garner, M.D., FACS

Dr. Steven Garner brings the highest levels of plastic surgery training, technical skill, and compassion to the Santa Cruz Surgery Center from his Santa Cruz surgical practice and the renowned UltraDerm MedSpa.
Fully Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Garner offers a full spectrum of cosmetic and reconstructive surgical care for the entire face and body. Dr. Garner is a highly skilled surgeon who is committed to exceeding the expectations of his patients.
Proudly representing the 3rd generation of physicians in the United States from the Garner Family, he completed eight years of undergraduate and medical school education at Boston University followed by an additional eight years of rigorous and fully accredited surgical subspecialty training at the University of Iowa Hospitals, University of Southern California, and the University of Miami. He has been on the Plastic Surgery faculty teaching at both University of Texas-Galveston and Stanford University.

Dr. Marsha Muir has been in practice in Santa Cruz for over 20 years. She is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Oakland, California. She is Board Certified and taking new patients. Dr. Muir enjoys scuba diving, reading mystery novels, cooking and gardening. She has a daughter and a grandson.
JANNA DOHERTY, M.D.

Dr. Janna Doherty came to Santa Cruz in 2000 following her OB-GYN residency at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in San Francisco. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Doherty is Board Certified and taking new patients. Dr. Doherty plays soccer and enjoys world travel, reading and studying Italian. She has a twin son and daughter and lives in Scotts Valley.
